The challenge

The Frimley Health and Care system was looking to meet the dual challenge of streamlining services whilst improving patient care in line with the new NHS Five Year Forward View. CoCreate was selected to design and deliver an innovative, place-based programme that activated leadership and collaborative working right across the system.

The programme

Now into its third cohort, the 20/20 Leadership Programme brings together courageous and entrepreneurial clinicians and managers to deliver more joined-up care for the local population. The voluntary and private sector, police and armed forces as well as the more traditional health and care providers are all represented on 20/20.

We equip 20/20 fellows with the time and space, skills and tools, beliefs and mindsets, inspiration and permission, and critically the relationships to deliver system improvement initiatives in line with strategic priorities. Frimley Board members now refer to 20/20 as a ‘social movement for change’. The programme has now launched in Hampshire as well.

CoCreate has created a positive energy and a space of empowerment that has galvanised a group of people to come together, creating a belief system that can transform health care. I believe we’ve created a movement with the NHS 20/20 programme, and I have been personally transformed as a leader.
