The challenge
TUI’s ambition is to be the world’s leading international tourism group. As such, its global presence is expanding and – with this – the international and intercultural competence and mindset of its employees becomes ever more important. In November 2016 TUI launched Global 60, a formal programme to scale and raise the profile of international mobility across the Group.
The programme
CoCreate was asked to design and facilitate a two-day conference, bringing together the CEO Fritz Joussen, 3 TUI Board members and 55 key stakeholders from across the business who are driving international mobility.
The purpose of the conference was to create alignment around the intent of the programme, build this network of international mobility champions and increase TUI’s ability to mobilise talent globally.
In advance of the conference, our Network Analysis team gathered insight data on the G60 programme, providing a deeper understanding of the value of international assignments to the individuals relocating, the value to the business and what makes international mobility work.
We used this data to design a G60 event that:
- Developed concrete improvement ideas in order to drive the G60 programme forwards.
- Provided critical development in terms of the leadership skills and mindsets needed to thrive in their roles as change agents in the business.
- Created a network of engaged, globally mobile leaders who can act as a strategic cross-functional group for the CEO.
The conference was very well received, with over 92% of attendees reporting that they had a great overall experience.
At the end of the second day of our Global 60 conference I again want to let you know that I am very proud of what we have achieved. All comments I heard were really positive which was great. Thank very much for all your excellent contributions.
