Collaboration isn’t a nice-to-have
Leading organisations today recognise the complexity of the challenges they face. Complex problems have no clear ‘root cause’, and traditional approaches of tackling them often fail.
Making progress requires genuine collaboration. Not the kind that sounds nice and gets talked about on your careers page; we mean bringing leaders together from all across the organisation and finding new ways to learn – about one another, about the systems they work in and about the challenges they face.
We design leadership interventions that help leaders connect, build trust and find new solutions to complex problems. The result? Agile approaches to deep-set problems, more inclusive cultures and leadership from everywhere.
We see the following five ingredients as being critical to developing the leadership and collaboration needed to tackle complex problems
CoCreate has created a positive energy and a space of empowerment that has galvanised a group of people to come together, creating a belief system that can transform health care. I believe we’ve created a movement with the NHS 20/20 programme, and I have been personally transformed as a leader. When we were putting the programme together, we knew we needed someone on board who understood leadership development and who would inspire the young people. I knew from the first time we met CoCreate that they were the right people for the job. The training style brings to life the leadership concepts most important to me – working within your sphere of influence, building resilience and developing the confidence to act and make a difference. It’s been a great start to the partnership and I’m looking forward to working together to help more young people to unlock their leadership potential.Michael Johnson – four times Olympic Gold Medalist
